It is imprinted "Franciscan Earthenware Made in U.S.A." on the bottom, as well as “oven safe/color fast” This pattern was made from 1969-1977. Franciscan is a trade name used for tableware produced by Gladding, McBean & Co. in Los Angeles, California from 1932-1962. When Gladding introduced their first hand painted earthenware line, Apple, they also introduced it using the Franciscan name. Franciscan was eventually purchased and produced by the Wedgwood Group who closed the California plant and moved it to England,
